Men and Women
Ladies and Gentlemen, Girls and Boys
May I have your attention please?
I heard you've been fighting and So I've appeared
In hopes both sides I'll appease.
"Girls are the best!" "Boys are better!"
I think we've heard it repeated
Time and time and time again,
But I think out purpose is defeated.
So let's stop all this bickering and start listening
Not being fair weather friends
For men can be ugly, and women can be too
But we need each other in the end
Yes men are obnoxious, noisy, and rude
messy and lacking in tact
But we can be gently loving and kind
Give it a try and find it a fact.
Have patience if we forget an anniversary or two
and your birthday once in awhile
We'll make it up, as best we know how
Our only hope is to make you smile.
But men! Be aware! Women aren't always
Ready to forgive and forget
If your forget enough, she'll leave you behind
Thought it costs them in love and regret
And women, you too aren't the perfect sex
though you'd like us to think you are
You can whine and complain and be a general pain
To a husband who's tired by far
But if we listen and help you to cope
you can help us in turn
By making us feel special when we do something right
and smiling when we return.
But women! Remember! Don't nag or annoy
Henpecked boyfriends are likely to leave
They'll not shed a tear, no they'll not cry
it's an idea we can't conceive.
Those are the reasons, men and women are great
Though I've just listed a few
But mark my words and keep them close
For you'll find no others so true.
Now let's stop this fight, and let us delight
And go back to where we were before
And remember in time, the moral of my rhyme
It's better to make love than war.
