Winter

Snowflakes softly falling
Against the grey of Winters Sky
The trees, they wave, amongst Themselves
As winters wind blows by

The wind it gusts and Blows & sighs
And sets the snowflakes Dancing
Whirling, dipping, and wheeling all about
Their dance is most Entrancing

Caught in the Spirit of the Snowflake Dance
you begin to move yourself
Twirling and Twisting with delight
Like some half-crazed dervish Elf

Calmer now you stop the twirl
and lay back in the snow
Out here in the cold, you know you'll freeze
but you never do want to go

When suddenly something strikes you
as Funnier than Hell
And you begin to laugh it up
and whoop and scream and yell

And there you lay, laughing your head off
Like a jester, quite insane
Here in snows soft embrace
is where you long to remain

But soon you must get up
Or catch your death of cold
the sun peeks out from behind the clouds
Glittering A frigid Gold

Back to the house, you slowly walk
Shaking off winters chill
Just for fun, before you're done
You tumble down the hill

When you finally reach the cabin
All fluffy, and covered in snow
You open the door, to the warm inside
and a cozy fire's glow

You clump the snow off of everything
And finally go inside
Finally to escape the cold
and from the wind to hide

Stripping off your winter clothes
Along with boots and cap
you find a Towel to dry Yourself
on the window snow does tap

You go into your room
To find and don some sweats
Then you grab the Neil case
from the table where it sets

Popping in the Cd
then swiftly hitting "Play"
Neil croons "Kentucky Woman"
it always brightens your day

Into the kitchen you float
and put the water on the stove
pull out a packet of hot chocolate
And over the room your eyes rove

The water is hot
So you dump the powder in
You grab a spoon a quickly stir
and Ponder where You've been

The waters hot, and the chocolate's done
Marshmallow's are all that's missing
You plop one in, then another
As you listen to the fire crackling

You snatch up the cup and take a quick sip
And head over to the fire place
The leaping red orange flames
Light your angelic face

Curling up in a blanket
there in front of the fire
Sipping your hot chocolate
As, softly, you admire

The gently falling snowflakes
as they quietly touch down
And you revel in its glory
As winter falls all around
