Ride the Wind

I want to ride the wind
so fast and so high, I never come down
I want to ride the wind
Turn my head, the rush is the only sound

I want to escape, on the back of the breeze
lift me off my feet, take me from sorrow
To a mystic land where they love and sing and
no thought is giv'n to the 'morrow

I want to ride the wind
so fast and so hard that it blows the tears away
I want to leave the darkness and gloom
I want the gust to take me from the fray

I want to be the storm
To release the fury and the rage
Can't hold these demons by the tail
bottled in this cage

that is my soul, ripping and tearing
consuming my all from the inside
worse, by far, than outward enemies
from these you cannot hide

I want to be a cloud
light and breezy floating above the earth
Soaring high up, not a care in the world
full of laughter and bubbly mirth

I need the lightning to strike
this waiting's done no good
One way or the other
I shouldn't or I should

I need to ride the wind
and escape me from this place
I need to feel the wind
blow the tears from my face

But no wind, no magical breeze
will swoop me from my life
myself, i must muddle through
all this heartbreak, sorrow, and strife

But with my family
and friends like these
one day soon, someday soon
I'll be able to enjoy the breeze
