Lonely

You're off in the distance
much much to far away
off in the east, where the morning sun rises
where the desert and the river play.

Stifled and suffocated
all alone in my room
summers here and outside
one more plum falls to its doom

Thinking of you constantly
Night, morning and noon
Precious time slips through my fingers
& and summers gone, all too soon.

When I'm with you, all is right
and I can do no wrong
But try and catch you on the phone,
Somehow you're always gone.

Nights up late, with stars about
and nothing seems so clear
as fleeting mortal moments pass
my watch beeps two is here

Sometimes I feel I'm sick
with a disease that has no cure
And when you find I've got it
you're out of here for sure

Living on is what I'll do
Traipsing the labyrinth of my mind
Avoiding bouts of fitful fretting
and like nervousness' of the kind

But once again I wander
from the purpose of this verse
Sometimes like a pickpocket,
I've a hand in every purse

too close in kind, like I started this thing
I'll simply say, "I miss you"
And since I can't find, 2 more lines
this masterpiece is through.
