Little Boat

A boat in turby waters
wobbles to and fro
unsure of its direction
grey waters froth below

The cap'n's asleep at the keel
full of apathy and lacking in care
he snores peacefully as the boat fades away
the wind tugs at his hair

Currents tug, bow and keel
all vying for the boat
the poor little thing is doing it's best
just to stay afloat

But where it wants to go
and where it wants to be
are none of tides or currents
that flow beneath this sea

The boat is happy with his lazy life
his lazy life of floating slow
going nowhere and always having
no place else to go

But soon the cap'n's nap will be at it's end
and the boat will have to choose
which things he'll keep
and those he'll have to lose.
