People zip by me on the highway
so I decide to turn it off
And go down to the meadow
where the grass is nice and soft

I watch TV, a mindless escape
from the monster that will eat your soul
It'll suck you through the monitor
Damnation is it's only goal

"No, I'm not currently involved."
I said politely to the phone
But deep inside my stomachs pit
I feel a tired groan

Tired of all the games
that we silly mortals play
hiding from each other
In the night; In the day

Honesty, too brutal a tool
ever to be used
Who Knows? Maybe we'd FEEL something
Be hurt or egos bruised

But in the end, when it really matters
Isn't that what living's all about?
Learning things; Loving things
Figuring it all out?

But, Hell, it doesn't matter
In this game of hide and seek
'Cause everyone of us is cheating
and All who've played have peeked

but Always play the game
and Never try to quit
For the first one to be Honest
is the next one to be It.
