Fire
I wander alone thorough a sky, dark grey
As the statues around me rise
every one a face I've known
That common look is in their eyes
Each a face of a woman loved
each a face adored
The only look that they've returned
is a look that says they're bored
~Chorus~
Where has my fire gone
in my life and in my soul
It has burnt out and in it's place
is a charred and blackened coal
The chains around me weigh me down
They pin me to the soil
to rise above is to much work
Soon apathy takes place of toil
When my feet are planted firmly
On the solid rock of ground
My heart longs desperately for the sky
where inspiration may be found
~Chorus~
Waiting for my time to come
though patience takes its toll
I'm chomping harshly at the bit
A quick, impatient foal
The sun will last to end of days
Burning on and on
while some may wait till times end
I don't know I'll go that long.
~Chorus~
