A Quiet Poem for a Quiet Night
Stars twinkle that we cannot see,
but they remain beautiful where they are
voices laugh that we cannot hear,
but that does not lessen the humor.
I listen but cannot be,
and yet I still care.
A quiet voice on a quiet night
and laughter everywhere
lovely laughter spilling like
rose petals from the lips of a
soft sweet thing ten thousand miles
beyond that which I can grasp.
But I smile because she's
beautiful anyway.
