Flowering

Budding Flower
Tender shoot
it's petals test
the air
Sun Rays Touch
From far above
where only Angels
dwell

Blooming from
it's former shell
of roots and
rich, dark soil
It's petals, like a fledglings
wings
Stretch forth in all
Their glory

The air is sweet
And sunlight good
Things are better
than before
Was all it did
Just to leave the ground

And growing up,
and awkward phase,
from seedling into
sprout
Stem bent at all
wrong angles
and a single leaf
Askew

But under nurturing
hands
Time has taken toll
and where the
struggling seedling
Started
Now a flower
Grows.
